So of course, me being me, I'm doing my independent study history class writing assignment like I should be... and well... I can't seem to figure out why I can't fully understand what one editor is saying about family life between 1880 and 1920... I mean I understand that money wasn't such a big factor during the 1880's, the lack of providing what constituted "necessities of life", like enough clothes, a shelter, enough food (during the 1880s)... but then during the 1920's, what constituted a "necessity" had changed... it's like it was to keep up with the Jones's... like never having flashy, materialistic things was enough.... much like some think today....
anyway... my prediction is that one day everything will collapse, and we'll go back to pre 1900 times, where having materialistic things doesn't mean anything....
Well, I've given up on even trying to look for anybody to date, because, well it's not working... and givine up is easier than to keep trying.... anywho...
the past several days haven't been the best I've had... I'm just tired of absolutely everything... I'm sick of work, I'm sick of looking for somebody, I'm tired of always being there for everybody, yet nobody being there for me when I need it... there's only a few people who are there when I need it... and they know who they are....
I'm thinking over my entire life in terms of where I'm at, where I'm going, and the the like.... I need a change, but I'm not sure what change yet.... we'll see...
well... there are no stories of the week again this week... I'm going to double up... I'm thinking I might switch to just once every other week and put a bunch of stories on there...
I bought a TV Tuner card for my computer the other day, an MSI ATI Theater 500 Pro.... seemed like a good card, but I couldn't get it to work at all.... so I returned it and bought a Sabrent TV Tuner & FM Radio card for 1/3 of the price... and this one actually works, and it does it's job quite well.... and the recording feature works well... there's a scheduling thing, but there's some nuance with it... I sent an email to their tech support to see what can be done about it... but we'll see if I get a response....
the only issue is that there are several shows that I want to record simultaneously but can't, because of scheduling... oh well...
The stories of the week have been posted here... Check them out... some good ones in there.... Additional category this week..
Here are the lyrics to a Lucky Boys Confusion's Song... it just seems to describe where I'm at right now.... which isn't always a bad thing...
The World Is Blacked Out In The Bedroom
The Radio Won't Let Her Down
Every Note Is A Reminder
Another Failure Born
Thirty Miles Outside Chicago
Kids Now What's Really Going On
Still This Gravel Highway Makes A Statement
We're Another Town Gone Wrong
Moving Out And Moving On
You Used To Look Like Me
Moving Out And Moving On, Forever
And This Autumn Air Reminds
How Things All Slowly Unwind
Changing Times Have Been Unkind To You
As These Days They Slip Away
We Grown Closer To Our Graves
Had The Best Time Of My Life, Without You
It's Three Month Since I've Seen Chicago
Now The Building Aren't So Tall
I Found Our Initials In The Pavement
Just Another Dream Gone Wrong
Moving Out And Moving On
You Used To Look Like Me
Moving Out And Moving On, Forever
And This Autumn Air Reminds
How Things All Slowly Unwind
Changing Times Have Been Unkind To You
As These Days They Slip Away
We Grown Closer To Our Graves
Had The Best Time Of My Life, Without You
I Bet It's Simpler Today
Throwing Everything Away
But The Memory Remains
I Bet It's Simpler Today
Throwing Everything Away
But The Memory Remains, Forever
And This Autumn Air Reminds
How Things All Slowly Unwind
Changing Times Have Been Unkind To You
As These Days They Slip Away
We Grown Closer To Our Graves
Had The Best Time Of My Life
And This Autumn Air Reminds
How Things All Slowly Unwind
Changing Times Have Been Unkind To You
As These Days They Slip Away
We Grown Closer To Our Graves
Had The Best Time Of My Life
I've added a flash music player on my website this is by far the easiest and most simple player I've found so far... it's only got 5 songs so far, which is ok... if there are any special requests let me know.
Man, work was rough today, first off I don't like getting up after being there until 9... but I manage... second it was one thing after another, the phones in young people's department weren't working right after we set them up... we had a meeting at 1:30 that lasted almost 3 hours... which is never good.... but we got some stuff done... but after the meeting, it became apparent that my boss isn't being a "good" manager by not knowing what our budget it... now I've never known how much we have to spend for I.T related stuff, which has bugged me, but it's never been that big of an issue... and well, I can't blame him, he was just dumped into being a manager... but he doesn't really have any organization skills, and he doesn't like taking suggestions very well... but I don't know what to do... we'll see.... I mean, I know that I don't know the first thing about being a manager, but really... I know you need a budget and some organization skills... oh well....
The other part that really bugs me is that he doesn't have a priority list of projects with possible finish dates... I've tried to get him to do this several times, but of course he never stays on it... I think he needs to go to some manager training classes, but he won't... oh well, don't know how long I'll be there anyway....
I decided to take an independent study History class... we'll see how well this works... so far so good, I've read the first chapter... so it's hasn't been too bad... my Cisco class doesn't start until the end of September... so I'll try and get a study rhythm for my history class in the meantime....
